Infrastructure
R.V. College is spread over 51.6 guntas i.e., 21.30hectares. The total built up area is 85360 Sqm with all amenities. Ramps and lifts have been provided to help the differently abled and sick. 90% of the class rooms are provided with multimedia projectors and internet facility. All academic blocks have secured Wi-Fi connectivity.
Overview:
R.V. College of Engineering is a landmark institution in Bangalore. Established in the year 1963, the college is amongst the best engineering institutions in the country. RVCE as it is popularly known, is one of a handful institutions in India that have collaborations with top universities across the world. Post graduate and research programs in R.V. College of Engineering have counterparts in universities located in Australia, France, Germany and United States of America.
Although the college has connections with universities across the world, principles that are essentially Indian guide the college. Value based education and Gandhian principles form the basis of the mode of education employed in the college. The college is not aided by the government and is a self-financing institution.
The college campus, located 13 kilometers outside the heart of Bangalore, on Mysore road is set in a lush 52 acres. The nearly unlimited area of land allows the management to utilize the area for events and meets to further the education offered in the college.
The research facility located in the college has executed research projects for many institutions like DRDO, HAL, CABs, ISRO, Naval research and AICTE. Leading expertise and the utilization of cutting edge technology allow RVCE to remain at the precipice of the ever-evolving cliff face of science and technology.

The department of library and information centre was established in the year 1963 currently with five technical staff – library science professionals and seven non – technical staff. Library has a vast collection of books, reference books, bound volumes, technical national and international journals, e- books, e- journals, encyclopedia and other multimedia resources, document collection volume is 133392. Library subscribes 231 technical journals 23 technical magazines and 15 daily newspapers which include English and Kannada.
Institution has subscribed to e- books Karvin Skill port 24×7 for accessing e-books which includes Engineering Pro / IT Pro, it has a collection of 29000 e-books.
Gartner research database for accessing technology related insight, written research, access to peer portal, these resources are web based can be accessed anytime/ anywhere.
E- Journals are subscribed from VTU E-Resource Consortium, the e- journals are from various leading publisher and is a value added service to the readers, and it has a collection of 8611 e-journals. - RVCE ranked 2nd among Technical Institutions selected for the World Bank supported TEQIP Phase II Sub Comp: 1.2, facilitated by MHRD GOI. World Bank supported TEQIP Phase II – Centre of Excellence in Macroelectronics for 3 years (2015-2018).

An experienced and qualified faculty has resulted in the institute being ranked high in various surveys. The library and the laboratory infrastructure are also extremely well developed. The library also subscribes to 991 e-resources and 293 national and international journals.
Placements:
It’s the best part of this college. More than 100% placement for all branches is guaranteed. More IT companies than the core ones visit the campus, so CS, IS and ECE branches gets more salaries which is 4.5 – 5 lakh on an average. IBM, Wipro & Accenture are the major recruiters for these branches. Big MNCs like Microsoft & Texas Instruments also took a few students offering an amazing package of 10 to 12 Lakhs. Mechanical, Civil, IM and other branches gets average 3.5 lakh package and their major recruiters are Bosch & L&T.

Bachelor Degree:
- 10+2 or PUC or equivalent
- Minimum 45 % in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Biotechnology or Computer Science
Master Degree:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate from a recognized University.
