About RIMT
Dr. Hukam Chand Bansal established the Shri Om Parkash Bansal Educational and Social Welfare Trust in 1998 and made his debut with in an altogether virgin domain – Education. An industrialist’s transition into education generally taken to imply profiteering motives, has been proved wrong for through his vision of “imparting quality education and producing society worthy individuals in addition to providing a productive work culture and conducive environment for the teachers and the taught, matched by unparalleled infrastructure and an insatiable urge to, in excellence, outdo ourselves . . . .”
History
The history of emergence of RIMT as the hub of education dates back to 1998, when O.P. Bansal Modern School was set up. It was established by Shri Om Parkash Bansal Educational and Social Welfare Trust owned by renowned industrialist – Sh. Hukam Chand Bansal. This school is presently the best in the region. Continuing its strides towards growth, RIMT surged into the higher education sector with the establishment of the RIMT Institute of Management and Computer Technology in the year 2001. Following this RIMT experienced the greatest period of momentum in its history adding a new college every year in its basket.

The Campus
The RIMT Campus is located in the industrial hub of Punjab – Mandi Gobindgarh on the Ambala-Ludhiana National Highway-I. The Campus is spread over an area of 80 acres and provides a conducive academic environment and attractive ambience. The campus is a combination of beautiful structures, well maintained lawns and technological facilities.
RIMT Youth Club
The RIMT Youth Club is a student group for RIMTianz. It is an activist and social network for RIMT students. The club is open to all students interested in the area of youth work and issues impacting young people. The club always welcome members to join and get involved.
CONATUS – The RIMT Youth Festival
The campus is full of activities all the year round and especially during the Youth Festival – “Conatus” meaning “impulsive force”. The festival showcases a wide variety of talent including technical, literary and cultural events. The fest is a learning experience and a personality enhancer for every individual who participates.
RIMT NSS Wing
The aim of this wing is to encourage the social welfare thoughts in the students and to provide service to the society without any prejudice. The NSS volunteers at RIMT are involved in a wide spectrum of activities such as planting trees, conducting Rally for Election Awareness, conducting health camps in rural areas, organizing blood donation camps, creating AIDS awareness, helping NGOs to raise sponsorship and funds. NSS unit of RIMT is conducting a survey on the status of education in Punjab along with ASER (Annual Status of Education Report). ASER is largest annual survey of children in rural india conducted every year since 2005 by Pratham.

The Steel City of India
Being an RIMT student gives you an edge to have the best interaction with the industry and its practices as the campus is in Mandi Gobindgarh which is a town in Fatehgarh Sahib district in the state of Punjab. It is also referred to as the Steel City (or simply Loha Mandi (“Iron Market”), Steel Hub because of a large number of steel mills and factories. With more than 500 medium and small sized steel and iron scrap recycling industries, Gobindgarh is one of India’s largest secondary steel producing areas. The city is well connected to major places like Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi. Every year we receive large number of applications from various parts of the country including those of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, U.P., Jharkhand, Bihar, Rajasthan.
